US Domestic Flights Could Be Shut Down
According to the Wall Street Journal, several U.S. airlines are considering a voluntary freeze on domestic passenger flights in the U.S. Meanwhile, the government is also thinking about restricting flights in the face of COVID-19.
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MARCH 19: The air traffic control tower at McCarran International Airport is shown on March 19, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tower is being cleaned as a result of being shut down by the Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday night after a controller tested positive for COVID-19. At least 40 flights that were inbound to Las Vegas had to be diverted. The Las Vegas Terminal Radar Approach Control assumed control of the airspace as part of a contingency plan so the airport could continue operations at a reduced level. The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic on March 11th. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
