The L.A. Kings hosted a news conference at Staples Center to kick off their 2012–13 season. It’s not 2012, you say? Technicalities — the lockout's over, and the NHL is getting ready to get back to playing hockey.

The press conference included Kings Head Coach Darryl Sutter, player Jarret Stoll, Governor Tim Leiweke, President/General Manager Dean Lombardi and president of business operations Luc Robitaille. It was hosted by the voice of the Kings, announcer Bob Miller.

Multiple sources have reported that the Kings’ first game will be against the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL opener on Saturday, Jan. 19, when the Kings will also raise their banner to the rafters. The Kings defeated the New Jersey Devils to take the Stanley Cup and become the NHL champs last season.

Correction: An earlier version of this story referred to the lockout as a strike, which is incorrect.
