Metro trains reach capacity, stranding some Women's March attendees
As thousands of people gathered in Downtown L.A. for the Women's March of Los Angeles, thousands more were left standing on Metro platforms and at bus stops as packed trains and buses rolled past.

Metro added more cars to trains and more frequent service to respond to demand, said spokesperson Kim Upton. Lines persisted at stations throughout the city, as would-be passengers waited to board already packed trains and buy TAP cards.

Some riders boarded trains going in the opposite direction of Downtown in order to board a train before it reached capacity, according to social media reports.
