In SGV, Getting A Sense of Air Quality

Air quality in parts of the San Gabriel Valley is some of the worst in Los Angeles County. Now local environmentalists with the Asian Pacific Islander Forward Movement are turning to residents for help. 

Since 2017, the group’s distributed 60 sensors to households in Alhambra and Monterey Park, which both have a disproportionately high pollution burden, according to the county health department. Liao wants to give away another 60 sensors.

The goal? To shape local policy.
